What We’ve Learned in 13 Years

Every year you stay in business is a milestone. 1 year is pretty big…then 5 years comes and your really doing it! Then 10 is a decade! ….Then what…how many years until you know it all? How many years until each client problem or staff issue becomes easier to handle? Maybe 100. Probably never. But we go on, celebrating each milestone, feeling like you just started yesterday but have been doing this your whole life. Here are a few things we have learned along the way.

  • The Client is your benevolent yet unyielding boss. They are the ones shaping your market, your products, your customer service. If they aren’t happy or are not buying what you are selling, you won’t make it until year one.
  • Trust the systems you implement. You have systems, right? Everyone at Aerial Innovations knows how to do every process. We have a saying, “Don’t think.” meaning, we have already done (most) of the thinking and have trained you.
  • You get what you pay for…in everything. But especially people. We tend to compensate well for a small photography business, but it pays off. We want our employees to worry about the clients, not making rent.
  • Enjoy every day! Not every day is easy but take some time with the people you work with to enjoy your accomplishments, hash out your frustrations and be goofy

We are always so thankful for our clients we work with but also pilots, vendors, neighbors, family, friends, peers, mentors and our brilliant team of photographers and associates. We couldn’t have done it without any of you!
